Insensitive SOB

I worked for a small company for 4 & 1/2 years preparing catalogs for cattle auctions. Our busy season was from September thru May and during that time it was not unusual to work 12-14 hour days 5, 6 or even 7 days a week. During the off season I was cut to 32 hours a week. I was never told that I was doing a bad job and made raises on a yearly basis.

After the first year or so, the stress began to wear on me but I continued to put in the hours much to the dismay of my husband and grown daughter. My health took a turn for the worse and I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia along with a couple of other stress related ailments. My doctor wrote a note to my employer asking that I work only 8 hours a day but my employer ignored the note and expected me to meet my deadlines even though it meant too many hours. I gave them all kinds of info on my diagnosis so they could see what this stress was causing.

About a year later I was beginning to have serious "fibro fog", something I had no control over. During a "fog" I accidentally sent a shipment to South Dakota instead of Nebraska via UPS.

During my few hours of sleep that night I suddenly recalled what I had done and spent the rest of the night and the next morning trying to stop the shipment and get it sent to the proper destination. I told the boss immediately when they came in what had happened and how I was trying to rectify the situation. I was immediately taken to the bosses office and told "This isn't working out. Get your stuff and get out". The boss's wife asked how much medication I was taking... I was emotionally, physically, and mentally unable to pursue other employment and therefore could not collect unemployment. I filed for Social Security disability and was awarded disability due to my health.

I have seen both the boss and his wife and a couple of others from that office since then. Not one of them has asked how I'm doing, feeling or what. In fact, they will not even speak to me. Don't you think this qualifies as an insensitive all purpose asshole?
