Karma Gets Credit Stealing Boss!

I was at my last job for 6 years and actually really liked my boss, my co-workers, and even the owner. The last year I worked there, they reorganized to try to save money and assigned my old manager to new tasks. They brought in a new manager that was a complete credit stealer/slacker. Every day she made me do all her work on top my own.

At first I thought she was just having a hard time getting a handle on her new job, but it became clear after several months that she had no intention of lifting a finger. She spent most of her days coming in late, skipping out for 2 hour lunches, on the phone with friends, shopping on EBay, and generally being useless. I desperately tried to find a way to get myself moved out from under her thumb.

I saw that another department was lacking in a certain area - one that I happened to be very interested in moving into. I approached her with my proposal to create another position in the company and increase productivity - complete with charts, report, the works - all about how it would save the company big bucks. I also wrote out a well-stated letter expressing my interest in this position and all my qualifications due to my many years of service at the company. She turned around and took complete credit for the whole idea,even using MY charts and write-up! She received high praise from the owner for her “innovation”. To top it off, she assigned someone else to the new position I created. When I confronted her, she told me that I needed to “respect her” or she would “have me fired”.

When I told the owner about what had been going on, my manager lied about the whole thing and made me look like I was just jealous of HER great ideas! She wanted me out of the company so bad now that she knew I would raise a stink about her lack of character. Less than 1 month later the owner needed to do cutbacks, and guess who she volunteered for the chopping block?! I got laid off. But Karma is a b*itch because after I was let go, a friend at the company told me that manager tried to pull the same stuff with one of my other co-workers. The owner figured out what she had been up to for the last year and FIRED her on the spot!

Ahhh...sweet justice.
