She was a serial bully
In a small K-12 alternative school, we had a boss who definately fit the serial bully label. A group of us got on the internet and found this term with a vivid description. She screamed, ranted until her face would turn beet red. She constantly lied and pitted staff members against eachother. Two of us came down with the shingles and five had to take high blood pressure medicine. She enlisted a few staff members to target the rest through fear and intimidation. We had meetings with district personnel. We wrote lengthy letters describing her actions. Finally, after 5 years, the district heard us and she retired. There was a a party in June celebrating the fact that she was finally gone. Many certificated and classified members came to the party from other schools where she was also the boss. I have a box labeled "The Bitch" with all her nasty memos.
I have also been a victim of a bully boss as millions of others. I would hope some day that the U.S. would have laws against bully bosses as the U.K. have enacted. We used to have unions that put a leash on people with this personality but today our union’s seem helpless. It seems the majority in management today have the idea they have you over a barrel and if you dont like it there is the door dont let it hit you in the ass on the way out.
They also seem to pick as a target the top performers. The sad thing is how much it effects everyones health and home life. I escaped the bully boss by going to night shift, it was that or quit.
All bosses listen up!!!! We quit you not our job!
I too work with a serial bully! What a horrible woman! I’ve only been here for 1 month and I’ve been crying almost every night. I admire the fact you attempted to get rid of her. Today, I sat down with my direct supervisor and told him what’s been happening (knotts in my stomach-the bully’s been there 5 yrs-who’s gonna believe me?) I think he’s going to Google serial bully. And yes, I’m looking for another job.
Even i too worked a bully Bitch boss in Bangalore, India. She was real nasty lady, who was bent on screwing up my life.
I work with a woman who has intimidated me for 31 months,first she taught me the job,then when she found out our contract was up,she started telling us to stop doing our job.I dont feel comfortable doing that,so now I shudder every time I have to work with her.Should be a law against bitches holding supervisor positions….

I too work for a serial bully!! Only it’s not a woman it’s a man and also the owner of a small manufacturing facility. He has even made the comment to me that “I will make your life a @#$^x%x* hell so you will quit”. Where are the laws against this? Who protects my rights as an employee? By the way he is the only male in the work place. So what do you do when he is not only the supervisor but the owner.
I am also a victim of two bullies; the Serial Bully boss, and the Wannabe bully who happens to be the mistress of the boss. Basically,the Serial bully boss has torn our office apart. I am currently AIDING a temp who has been ordered to type a report on why myself and two other people should not work in the office! My story is far too long winded for this forum, but it is nice to know that we can get our sanity checked by visiting websites like this. Gotta go look for another job now! Bye!
Sad to read these storiess, I live and work in the uk and work for a small company.I am not sure if our boss who is also the owner is a bully or a very good manipulator. He puts the employees against each other with name calling. But like all bullys when confronted, he backs down. It is a shame the job we do is fine but spoiled by his actions. In our situtaion there is not much we can do people will not back each other up and he knows it.
I work at a large telcom and the center leader (if you can call him that) more like a serial bully fires someone several times a month most recently fired a very popular manager and set the whole office into a depression. There are 140 people working under this basturd and we are all praying someone he has fired doesn’t come back and go postal on all of us. He has caused so much sickness, stress, anxiety that most of us don’t know if we are employed from day to day. No one should have to live in fear of losing their job on a daily basis. We all hate this basturd with a passion what can we do?
